Vivien Kohler (1976 - ) was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he still lives and makes art today. He specializes in collage and painting but also enjoys experimenting with 3-dimensional pieces using discarded materials. He studied art at the Ruth Prowse School of Art and Design in Cape Town and graduated in 2000 with a National Diploma in Fine Art. He’s taken part in many group exhibitions, has won art competitions, and had his work included in several corporate collections. Vivien’s work often explores migration, marginalization, and displacement in urban, post-Apartheid South Africa.
