Ludumo Maqabuka
Ludumo Maqabuka (1982 - ) was born on the outskirts of Mthatha in South Africa. He grew up just east of Johannesburg and still calls this city his home. He graduated with a B-Tech in Painting in 2005, a National Diploma in Fine and Applied Arts in 2007, and a Diploma in Graphic Design and Web Development in 2012. Maqabuka believes that society is defined by popular culture and his work highlights the influence that mass media has on life. His Pop Art style of painting uses vibrant, solid colours and he hopes that his artworks are not just pleasing to look at, but that they’re also informative. He has taken part in solo and group exhibitions and has also been a finalist in art competitions.
