Kate Arthur (1985 - )South African-born artist Kate Arthur's (1985 - ) practice includes painting, drawing, printmaking, installation, and performance. She’s had a longstanding interest in portraiture, identity politics, and representations of the body, but her more recent work has been increasingly abstract. Arthur values intuition, experimentation, and play, and when she is not hard at work, you’ll find her at home in the Lidgetton Valley in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. Arthur has exhibited in various group shows around South Africa, has also been the recipient of the Sanlam National Portrait Award, and in 2019 enjoyed a drawing research residency with DRAWinternational (Caylus) and L’AiR Arts in Paris. We love that her work has found a home with us.
